The move in was a success today. All 10 trailers are empty, and ready to be picked up. Over 130 people were there today, sharing in the work of carrying boxes and furniture into the building. By 4:00 we had the job done, and everything was inside the building.
There is of course a huge job remaining for the office and teachers as they unpack and settle into their offices and classrooms.
The Lord provided great weather, and their was only one injury requiring stitches. Praise the Lord for his provision and protection.
Keep praying for students to register at OCA before classes start in August.

Moving notes
If you are coming to help move on Saturday, there are a few things to remember.
Our parking lot is full of semi trailers. Please plan to park north of our building. We have asked for and received permission to park at CAS, immediately north of our building.
If you have a dolly, we will likely make use of it. We have several already, but I expect we will use as many as are available.
Please do work carefully to protect other people, and the newly finished surfaces in the building. We have worked to protect doorways, but walls and floors are not covered. Just move with care.
With a large enough crew, we could finish this move on Saturday.

Moving Day!
Saturday, July 11 is move in day. Official start time is set for 9:00 am, but some of us will likely be there by 8:00 am to get organized and started.
This will be a great chance to see the building, and serve the school. It is our hope that a large number of people come to help move in. Lunch will be provided! Please try to come by for a while and carry some boxes, desks, tables, chairs....
Thank you!

Praise the Lord with Thanksgiving
Yesterday, the builder informed me that our building had passed the City of Omaha inspection! This is great news, and something about which we have been praying. God's hand has clearly been upon our work on this building. We give Him all the glory!
We cannot yet say the building is done, but it was close enough for the City to inspect, and we passed with no issues. Yet to finish is a little carpet and baseboard work, which is underway and should be finished in just a few days. There is also a heavy duty 'tornado door' which has been ordered, and should arrive to be installed in the next couple of weeks. The door must be installed before we can hold class, but that should not be an issue.
We also have to plant some trees, and I understand that someone is working on that. Could be some volunteer opportunities there.
Move in is soon to be scheduled, perhaps Saturday the 11th. Watch for emails on that soon, and I will update here too.
Keep praying for more students!

Moving time
Moving time is quickly approaching! My dear wife has agreed to coordinate the move. Tentative schedule includes getting most of our stuff out of the LCC building by May 31. This will get the labor done before lots of people begin to travel for the summer and so forth.
Please consider helping with the move out!
Move in will be about July 7. We have donated semi trailers to store furniture in between moving out and moving back in.
It is exciting to see the work. Please keep praying!

OCA is not currently doing any door to door fundraising!
It has recently come to the school's attention that some people are going door to door claiming to represent OCA. The paragraph below was issued on Friday, April 24 regarding this activity. These individuals do not represent OCA, and the school is not currently doing any door to door fund raising.
Fundraising Scam
Omaha Christian Academy is warning residents about a door-to-door fundraising scam taking place in a neighborhood near I-680 and Fort Streets. Two men posing as representatives of OCA are fraudulently requesting money for a school trip [or trying to sell magazines]. Residents in the neighborhood contacted the local police because the men where asking inappropriate questions and behaving aggressively while attempting to enter the homes. Omaha Christian Academy is not conducting any fundraising door to door, so any person or group claiming to be working for the school is fraudulent. The perpetrators probably chose this neighborhood to solicit because OCA is building a new school in the area. Residents should be aware and remember to check with the agency involved to determine legitimacy before contributing. Anytime residents have a concern about peddlers, they can call 911 and the police will check them out.
